My red Mary Jane heels were thrift from the Camp Humphrey’s Thrift Store. Recently, I learned that they have a pretty good one here on this post! Links to links similar Tulle Skirts are provided. How to Blog About Fashion
There are tons of things I wish I knew about fashion blogging that I know now.
Starting out I did not know the tricks or programs I can use to help me monetize my blog. In this post, I am going to share with you everything I know! So, if you are interested in learning more to help improve your blog, keep reading!
This post is a continuation of my blog post ‘Fashion Blogging For Beginners: The Mistakes I Made Starting My Fashion Blog.’ If you want to learn more about Fashion Blogging on various topics, check it out! In this post I am going to talk about how:
-I did not blog about my items correctly.
The Back Story
Shoppers and other Fashionistas are constantly looking for ideas and inspiration. It is up to you to provide that inspiration. When I first started, I would blog about clothes and accessories that I bought but sometimes I could never find the items online- (Lawton was not a good place to shop). If I bought the item on sale, I never really promoted it. Sometimes the items that I buy sell out, that’s when I provide links to “Similar Items” but I did that way too often, still do! Unfortunately, Korea hasn’t been the most inspiring for my outfit purchases and blogging. Due to my current location, I always have to wait a month or two to receive my purchases and blog about them. So many times I will receive my purchases and the items are already sold out. The Struggle is Real Folks!!!
Here is a list of ideas you should take into consideration when blogging:
- Blog about your unique personal style, don’t hold back!
- Share ideas and hacks that you have picked up along the way
- If you are sharing an Item that is not sold anymore, provide the best Similar Item you can find
- Provide your readers with things that inspire you
Below, are some ideas for when you are blogging to monetize:
- Try to look for items you know are not going to sell out so quickly and if you think they will post a blog about them immediately!
- Don’t forget to post if they get re-stocked!
- If you buy your items on sale, post about it as soon as possible!
- Always check back to see if the items you bought are on sale, if they go on sale, make an announcement on Social Media or provide a post on your blog!
- Blog truthfully about the items you purchase, give a little review
- Use affiliated programs like Amazon and Style Collective to help monetize your blog!
ShopStyle Collective
I learned about this affiliated program back in the summer and immediately started using it. Unlike RewardStyle, it is easier to get into. This program helps me gain inspiration in what to shop for. ShopStyle Collective is affiliated with a ton of businesses like Forever 21, Old Navy, Gap, JCrew, Nordstrom, BaubleBar, Macy’s, and the list goes on and on! I wish I knew about this program a lot sooner! You get a commission for clicks on your promoted items and you get a little bit more if they purchase it. However, you will not receive the money you make unless you make $100 or more in a month! This program is fantastic because it also helps with analytics. I can see what shoppers are interested in when they visit my blog and what brands they prefer.
Let me know, was this blog was helpful? Please share any other affiliated programs you may know about for my readers by commenting below! Also, provide any feedback you wish to share!
