Just like last year, I am continuing my Summer TBR Booklist trend because there are so many good rom-com books for the summer. There is just something perfect about bringing a summer-themed book to the beach or the pool. You have your books with spice, and you have your light-hearted romantic comedy books with no spice. Emily Henry’s books will have some spice. Can we talk about the cute cover art on these books? I am here for it!
My Summer TBR BOOKLIST
Every Summer After by Carley Fortune: A story about many summers of the past, love, regret, heartbreak, and the present. It’s about a woman who put her past behind her and occupied herself with her stylish life in Toronto. Persephone is brought back to her past by a phone call from someone she hasn’t spoken to in years. This book flips back and forth from past to present. I can already see that this is going to be a cute read.
The Summer of Broken Rules by K. L. Walther: I heard Taylor Swift’s songs inspired this novel. The story takes place at Martha’s Vineyard during the summer. Meredith has been vacationing there for years with her family but hasn’t been back since her sister died. It’s her cousin’s wedding this summer, and she meets a cute groomsman. She tries to stay focused on a family tradition of a game called Assassin and not get distracted by this guy. I am excited for this one.
Beach Read by Emily Henry: It is a story about two writers who are opposite in their writing styles. They stay in neighboring beach houses for the summer, trying to produce new novels. However, they are both dealing with writer’s block. They work together to overcome their writer’s block and go on an adventure that will bring them together. I wonder if this one is going to be good. I’ve heard good and bad reviews.
WHAT IS ON YOUR SUMMER BOOKS TBR LIST THIS YEAR?
What do you think of my book picks for the season and year? I love grabbing fiction books with a storyline that gets you into the season vibes. Have you read any of these books on my list? If you have, what do you think of them? I will be back with a book review before summer is over. Happy Summer Reading.
Cheers!
