Hello, 41! I am celebrating with a Birthday “Get to know me!!” I spent time over the weekend at my mother’s house, where we celebrated with cake and some Top Golf. We also went to the bookstore to buy some fall books. I always enjoy my time with my family. Below is a list of questions answered so you can get to know me-the lady behind the blog. Shop Dress here!
Birthday Get to Know Me: Blogging
Q: How did you start blogging?
It all started when I was stationed in Lawton, Oklahoma, as a Drill Sergeant 8 years ago. I was miserable with my job and needed a creative escape. I was thinking about getting out of the Army and starting an online boutique, and I read somewhere that starting a blog was an excellent route. So, I started my initial blog on a free word press in March of 2015. I took pictures of the outfits I tried to sell on eBay. Long story short, I stayed in the Army but kept my blog. Blogging was so much that I purchased my website in November 2015.
Q: What is your least favorite thing about blogging?
Honestly, I don’t like how blogging has evolved so much since 2015 (When I first started). Women no longer read blogs, but I enjoy creating on my website rather than posting on Instagram. I had 10K on my first IG account, but it got hijacked and deleted. I had to start all over, and growing on Instagram is so different.
Q: List any Apps you use to edit your Instagram photos?
I use Lightroom. I use a preset and sometimes alter the preset accordingly, depending on the photo.

Q: Do you have a full-time job?
I do; I am in the Army. I’m stationed here in Texas, and we will be moving soon. Five more years, and I can retire!
Q: What do you love doing besides blogging?
Blogging has always been my favorite hobby, aside from putting outfits together. Some other things I enjoy: Reading, I was into non-fiction and leadership books, but now I am getting into Fiction books; see this post here! I also enjoy scary movies, Halloween, and the driving range.
Q: List some of your favorite places to eat in George Town, TX?
There are so many good places in this tiny square it is hard to choose. District Six because it’s a chill place with good food and good beer. I love El Monuneto for the margs. Tajas for BBQ and 600 degrees pizza.
Get to Know Me: Fashion
Q: Where are some of your favorite places to shop?
I am a Nordstrom girl all the way and have been a fan since 2016. I love their annual sale, which I will be coving this year; see here! Some of my other favorites are Pink Lily and Loft, and sometimes Target has some really good stuff.
Q: If you could pick an era to live in for the fashion, which one would it be?
The Roaring 20’s. I am obsessed with the trends and glamor of the 1920s. Fun fact, the headbands with feathers weren’t huge during that time. It was about cloche hats, veils, and fascinators.
Q: What is your favorite handbag or dream bag?
My Louis Vuitton Neverfull bag, because my husband surprised me with that bad for Christmas of 2019. I have a Gucci and a Louis Vuitton Favorite PM that’s previously loved. Okay, my dream bag is a classic Chanel in black or beige.
