Today, I am sharing Instagrammable spots at Islands of Adventure. For 4 years my husband and I have been vacationing at Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. Over the years, I’ve become familiar with the most photo-worthy spots at both parks and I want to share my experience.
This park has so many cute photo opportunities but there are things you must take into consideration:
- Crowd level- There is a chance that people will litter the backdrop of your photos depending on
how many people are in the same part of the park. For example,
Hogsmeade is the most visited area of Islands of Adventure. It can be so hard to
grab a decent picture with so many people waiting to take the same picture as
you. - Weather- It is always best to take a picture during overcast days.
Direct sunlight can cause harsh shadows and it can
be quite unflattering. If you are not worried about that sort of stuff then
disregard it. If you are trying to acquire the perfect shot; then pay
attention to the weather. - Time of day- This goes hand in hand with crowd level and lighting.
If you get to the parks early, there will be fewer
people and usually, the lighting is perfect for pictures. If you get to the
parks later. You may or may not find the crowd level condensed and you have the
opportunity to take advantage of the “Golden Hour.”
Here are my favorite Instagrammable spots
Hogsmeade
This picture is in Hogsmeade. It is the bridge that leads to Jurassic Park and it is super instagrammable. It is hard to grab a picture here because there is always a crowd trying to do the same thing. In this spot, you get the perfect backdrop of Hogwarts Castle. Get your Harry Potter scarf and wand! This spot makes for a cute photo.
You can also try to take a snapshot near the stage at the bottom of the castle. As you can see, there are always people walking in and out of the Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ride.
Toon Lagoon
The crow level in this area of the park is usually less dense. There are so many cute places you can take a photo. One of my favorites is at the Hush-a-Bomb.
There used to be these cute comic bubbles posted on the trees with different sayings, where you can take a picture. However, during this visit, they were all removed. I don’t have the details to why or if they are coming back with new wordings. I hope they bring them back because they were a lot of fun.
Seuss Landing
Leaving out the new controversies of Dr. Seuss; I have to say this place is pretty cool. I like all the rides in this part of the park because I am an old kid. I find this area so adorable. There are plenty of photo opportunities but my favorite is the Truffula Trees. Too freaken cute! I’ve been trying to capture the perfect photo here for years but it is hard
because the sun beams directly down in this area if you don’t catch it during the golden hour. Visit the Street of the Lifted Lorax and the house to hear the story about and the Truffula Trees. I love it!
So these are my favorite areas in Islands of Adventure. Be sure to check out my future blog post about Universal Studios Park.
If you are traveling this spring, happy traveling, and please share your experiences with me in the comments below.
