We have come to love the local craft beers of central Texas. One of our favorites is Barrow Brewing Company, located in the charming town Salado. This brewery offers tasty, refreshing craft beers and an unforgettable experience. The charm of Salado, and its community also caught my attention. I enjoyed the welcoming atmosphere! Today, I will share my experience with you!
Barrow Brewing Craft Beers
Their local craft beer is so good. I suggest you order a flight so you can try different beers. I love the Lagersaurus TEX, Creek Don’t Rise, and the Golden Ale. There is another beer that I enjoy, but it is seasonal. The Swimming Hole is another tasty beer offered during the spring months. It is important to note that some of these beers are seasonal.
More than Craft Beers
You can take your refreshing beer and explore the farmers market on the weekends. Cool off in the creek; the water is clear and cold even during the summer. Enjoy the festivities and the food that is all located on the property. Once, we met the founder of Auntie Anne’s Pretzels, Anne Beiler. She was selling her cookbook and giving a speech at the brewery.
The Food Trucks
The two food trucks on the property are permanently there. Both food trucks are so good. Happy Pizza Co. has tasty pizzas that feed two and a pretzel with beer cheese for a snack. Bobbyque is another good place, try their Chicago style tater tots!
Explore the town of Salado
After we eat and get some delicious craft beer, we like to walk through the historic town of Salado. There are different boutiques and shops. Salado is always a fun visit. We like taking our books to read while we sip and wait for food.
I had a lovely two-week vacation and returned to work last week. We are getting a little break from instructing and pick up new students next week. I recently got orders to move so, I am also focused on spending our last months in Texas with family. I want to visit as many places as possible before we move.
