Lets talk about sundress season and how bloggers do odd things for a photo. If you are a fashion blogger then you can relate. I have to admit that I become pretty weird or odd to the people around me whenever I am trying to build my content. My husband makes fun of me all the time!
In this post, I am going to share my embarrassing monuments while building content for my blog! I’m sure there are a few of you who can relate. I am also going to share some sundresses I am dying for so make sure you stick around for that!
Blogging makes you Odd
Completely true! Recently, I was outside early in the morning trying to capture an outfit of the day (ootd) photo from my Instagram. I am currently residing in barracks for my Advance Leadership Course. A couple of guys walked outside the barracks. Immediately, they asked me if I needed help taking a selfie. I embarrassingly told him about my hobby. He responded with “I am glad you cleared that up, I was wondering if you were okay.” Like what was that supposed to mean!?! I felt stupid.
There was another time in (Ft Sill) when I was setting up with my camera and remote in this little park. A Military Police drove by then he came back and stopped, got out of the car, and started a conversation with me about photography. I seriously thought I was doing something wrong and did not know it. He totally killed my vibe for the session.
More Odd Things
Whenever I am around people I know and I want to do an Instagram Story on the spot, I apologize to them in advance before filming it. With my husband, I get the sighs and the rolling of the eyes. He doesn’t understand my need for content. Those of you who have understanding husbands/boyfriends who encourage your blogging goals, you are lucky!
One more to laugh at!
Again, I had my camera and remote set up (Camp Humphreys), in front of a barracks building that was not being used. I was on the sidewalk. There was another barracks building for Senior Non Commissioned Officers across the way but it was kind of vacant with not a lot of traffic. During my session, a guy spotted me and walked up to see what I was doing. Embarrassed, we ended up having a 20-minute conversation about my hobby and other stuff while my husband waited for me in the car, impatiently.
I wish women would approach me instead; I might be able to attract readers this way.
Tis’ the season, sundress season!
Summer is around the corner and I love a good sundress. Shop down below for all of my current favorite dresses.
There are amazing sundresses being sold at Old Navy. I bought two! I bought the one I am wearing for this post and a midi sundress. The best part about this dress is that it’s on sale for $14.00. These dresses come in different colors and patterns. Absolutely amazing for summer! The one I am wearing is a size Medium, I should have gone down to a Small. I normally wear a Large, Medium, size 10 in dresses depending on the style or retailer.
I am wearing last year’s Bauble Bar earrings; they are great for spring. Unfortunately, they are no longer sold but Bauble Bar has similar earrings (Mai Drops) for only $20.00. I also linked another floral-type earring set that is also for sale.
My new laser-cut flats with laces like a ballerina; they make me feel elegant like a ballerina. I bought these at Target during their BOGO sale.
This wide brim hat is my new favorite. I bought it at Francesca’s but their accessories sell out so fast. It was not offered online when I bought it and I grabbed the last one. Instead, I linked similar sun hats that I am fond of!

In Closing
No matter what people think or how odd I appear to be, I am still going to do my thing because it makes me happy. Only other hardworking fashion babes truly understand this kind of lifestyle, the need for content. This hobby is about putting yourself out there with hopes to inspire.
